Solution:-
After 10 days 180 soldiers had food for 30 days.
After 10 days 30 soldiers left so 150 soldiers left in the fort.
Suppose 150 soldiers had food for 'x' days.
Now, less soldiers, the food will last for more days.  (Inverse Proportion)
∴ 150 : 180 :: 30 : x
 150 × x = 180 × 30
x = (180 × 30)/150
x = 36
Therefore after 10 days, when 30 soldiers left the fort, the food will last for 36 days.

Answer

46 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Understanding the meaning of 'total' is essential.

After 10 days,

No of days of food for 180 soldiers = 30 days.

More soldiers, less days the food will sustain.(Inversely proprtional)

Let x be the no of days food will sustain.

Now, we get

150x = 180(30)

or, x = (180 X 30)/150

or, x = 6 X 6

or, x = 36

'Total' = 36 + 10(No. of days 30 soldiers were there)

= 46 days is the correct answer.
