The answer is 110.78mm²

GIVEN

A fountain circular in shape is built at the centre of a circular garden. If the radius of the circular field is 6.3 m and radius of the pond is 2.1m.

TO FIND

The area left in the garden for plantation.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

The area left for plantation = Area of garden - Area of fountain.

Area of circular field = πr² = 3.14 × 6.3 × 6.3 = 124.62 mm²

Area of circular fountain = πr² = 3.14 × 2.1 × 2.1 = 13.84mm²

Area left for plantation = 124.62 - 13.84 = 110.78mm²

Hence, The answer is 110.78mm²
