a fraction becimes 9/11, if 2 is added to both the numerator and denominator. if 3 is added to both the numerator and denominator it becomes 5/6.Find the fraction

Answer:

let the fraction be x/y

hence

x+2/y+2=9/11............1

x+3/y+3=5/6.................2

solving both of them we have

Eq .1.....11x-9y= -4

Eq. 2.....6x-5y= -3

multiply eq.1 by 5 and eq.2 by 9

55x-45y= -20

54x-45y= -27

now substract both of them

then we have

x=7

and therefore y=9

hence the fraction=7/9
