Answer:

Step-by-step explanation: let 'x' be assumed as the numerator and 'y' as the denominator

A.T.Q.

[CASE-1]

x-2/y=1/3

x-2=y/3

x=y/3+2

x=y+6/3 ------------ eq. 1

[CASE-2]

x/y-1=1/2

x=y-1/2

using eq.1 we get,

y+6/3= y-1/2

2(y+6)= 3(y-1)

2y+12= 3y-3

2y-3y=-3-12

-y=-15

y=15

BUT x=y+6/3

x=15+6/3

x=21/3

x=7

fraction: x/y

            7/15

i prefer to write it down on a notebook first because it would confuse you to understand in this format.

I HOPE IT HELPS !!
