Answer:

Let the fraction be yx

From the given conditions

yx−2=31⟹y=3x−6⋯(1)

y−1x=21⟹y=2x+1⋯(2)

From (1)&(2)

2x+1=3x−6⟹x=7⟹y=3(7)−6=15

So the fraction is 157

HELLO!

Good morning.......

Question ⤵

A fraction becomes 1/3 when 2 is subtracted from the numerator and it becomes 1/2 when 1 is subtracted from the denominator. Find the fraction?

Answer ⤵

The fraction is 7/15.

Solution ⤵

let \: te \: fraction \: be =  \:  \frac{x}{y}  \\ subtracting \: two \: from \: its \: \\  numerator \\  =  &gt;  \frac{x - 2}{y}  =  \frac{1}{3}  \\ multiply \: to \: cross \:  \\ 3x - 6 = y  ......(1)\\ </p><p>\ now \: one \: is \: subtracted \: from \: its \ \\ denomnator \\  = &gt;   \frac{x}{y - 1}  =  \frac{1}{2}  \\ multiply \: to \: cross \\ 2x = y - 1......(2) \\ putting \: the \: equetion \: (1)in(2) \\ 2x = 3x - 6 - 1 \\ 7 = 3x - 2x \\ x = 7 \\  putting \: the \: value \: of \: x \: in \: eq(1) \\ y = 3 \times 7 - 6 \\ y = 21  - 6 \\ y = 15\\   hence \: the \: fractin \: is \:  \frac{7}{15}
