Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the fraction be x/y

1 case.

X-2 ÷ y = 1÷3

On cross multiply

3(x-2) = y×1

3x - 6 = y......... .......1

2 case

X ÷ y-2 = 1÷2

On cross multiply

2x = 1×(y-2)

2x = y -2

Putting value of y

2x = 3x - 6 -2

2x - 3x = -8

-x = -8

X = 8

Y = 3x - 6

= 3×8 - 6

= 24 - 6 = 18

Fraction = x÷y. = 8/18 or 4/9

Hope it helps uh

\huge{\boxed{\red{\bf{Required  \: answer:-}}}}

Given:-

Fraction is \sf{\dfrac{1}{3}}

= -2

Fraction is \sf{\dfrac{1}{2}}

= -1

Solution:-

\tt\longmapsto{\dfrac{x - 2}{y} =\dfrac{1}{3}}

⟼3(x−2)=y

⟼3x−6=y

⟼3x−y=6 ⠀⠀.........(i)

\tt\longmapsto{\dfrac{x}{y - 1} =\dfrac{1}{2}}

⟼2x=y−1

⟼2x−y=−1 ⠀⠀.........(ii)

From (i) and (ii)

⟼3x−y=6

⟼2x−y=−1

⟼x=7

★ Putting the value of x in the eq. (i)

⟼3x−y=6

⟼3(7)−y=6

⟼21−y=6

⟼−y=6−21

⟼−y=−15

⟼y=15

∴Fraction= \frac{7}{15}
