A fraction becomes 1/5 when 3 is added to both numerator and denominator. If
1 is subtracted from the numerator and 1 is added to the denominator, then it

On cross multiply

6(x-1) = 1×(y+1)

6x-6 = y+1

Putting value of y

6x - 6 = 5x + 12 +1

6x - 5x = 13 +6

X = 19

Y = 5x + 12

= 5×19 +12

= 95 + 12 = 107

Fraction becomes = 19 ÷ 107
