Then from cross multiplication an equation formed that is 8x -5y + 9
Then from second statement x - 1/ y + 1 = 1/6
Equation formed is 6x - y - 7
Multiply eq 2 by 5
By subtracting eq 1 from eq 2
The value of x is 2 and the value of y is 5
That is why the fraction is 2/5
