Step-by-step explanation:

let the fraction be x/y

ATQ

x-3/y=1/6. eq 1

x/y+8=1/4. eq 2

from 1

y=6x-18. eq 3

from 2

y =4x-8 eq 4

eq (3-4)

0= 2x-10

2x=10

x=5

put x in eq3

y=30-18

y=12

therefore fraction is 5/12
