Let the fraction x/y
Ist condition...
X-1/y=1/3
3(x-1)=y
3x-3=y
3x-y=3...1)

2nd condition...
X/y+1=1/4
4x=y+1
4x-y=1....(2)
From (1) and (2)
3x-y=3...(1)*4
4x-y=1...(2)*3
———————
12x-4y=12
12x-3y=3
——————
Y=15
Y=15
Put y=15 ineq (1)
3x-15=3
3x=3+15
X=18/3=6

Fraction= 6/15

ramkalbande: the ans is 5/12
