Therefore, the numerator will be x - 4

If 1 is subtracted from the numerator and 3 is added to the denominator ; the fraction becomes 1 / 5

Therefore,

x - 4 - 1 1

Cross multiplication :

5x - 25 = x + 3

5x - x = 3 + 25

4x = 28

Denominator = x = 7

And numerator = x - 4
