a fraction is such that the sum of its numerator and denominator is 15 if 8 is added to the numerator and 12 is added to the denominator the fraction becomes 3/4 find the original fraction​

Let the fraction be in the form of

where n is numerator and d is denominator

According to question

Now from equation 2.

4n - 4 = 3d

Putting the value of d in equation.

4n - 4 = 3(15 - n)

4n - 4 = 45 - 3n

4n + 3n = 45 + 4

7n = 49

n = 7

Putting n = 7 in equation first we get,

d = 15- n

d = 15 - 7

d = 8
