◈ Distance covered by freely falling object in first 2 seconds is x and in next 2 seconds is y.

We have to find rekation between x and y.

Distance covered in first 2s :

➝ d = ut + (1/2)gt²

➝ d = (0×2) + (1/2)(10×2²)

➝ d = 40/2

d = 20m

Distance covered in first 4s :

➝ D = ut + (1/2)gt²

➝ D = (0×4) + (1/2)(10×4²)

➝ D = 160/2

D = 80m

Hence, distance covered in next 2 seconds will be

➝ d' = D - d

➝ d' = 80 - 20

d' = 60m

Relation between d and d' :

⇒ d'/d = 60/20

⇒ d'/d = 3

d' = 3d
