A freely falling object eventually stops on reaching the ground. What happens to its kinetic energy?
A girl having mass of 35 kg sits on a trolley of mass 5 kg. The
trolley is giving an initial velocity of 4m/s by applying a force. The trolley comes to rest after traversing a distance of 16 m.

Explanation:

We know that energy can neither be created nor be destroyed. It can only be transformed from one form to another.

When an object falls freely, its potential energy gets converted into kinetic energy and when the object hits the ground its kinetic energy gets converted into heat energy and sound energy.
