A freely falling object eventually stops on reaching the ground what happens to its kinetic energy
answers
The KINETIC ENERGY gets CONVERTED into Heat and Sound energy on hitting the ground. Also, before reaching rhe ground, then some of its energy gets dissipated to air friction. Kinetic Energy = 1/2 × mass × velocity squared Final velocity of ball is 0 so kinetic energy is also 0. ... Some of it comes through sound energy.

When an object falls freely towards ground, its kinetic energy transform into different other form of energy:
⇒ Potential energy converted into kinetic energy.
⇒ Heat energy produce when an object hits on the ground and collide.
⇒ Sound or vibration energy is produced due to collision of the object with the ground.
