Your friend is addicted to Computer Games and is frequently absenting himself from the class. Your duty should be not to cover him up but to help him out of this addiction.
First step should be that you should not accept to give attendance for him.
Second step should be to inform your teacher, if she is capable of handling in a matured way. Otherwise, you should bring to the notice of his/her parent. This way he can be helped out of his addiction and saved.
