A frog hocks from point a to point b along a straight line path and then turns to point c . what is distance travel by frog and what is the magnitude and direction of places

distance travelled by frog is length of ab+bc.
if bc is perpendicular to ab, then the magnitude is  ab^2 + bc^2 = ac^2 [Pythagorean theorem]
if bc not perpendicular to ab then there must be some other way to find the magnitude. i cannot say it without reading the entire question and seeing the diagram
