A From the displacement-time graph of a cyclist, given in the diag. find:
(i) the average velocity in the first 4s,
(ii) the displacement from the initial position at the end of 10 s .
(iii) the time after which he reaches the starting point.

Answer:

Hey there!

i) given,

time (t) = 4 s

from the graph, displacement  in first 4 s = 10 m

We know,

Average velocity = distance / time

                            = 10 / 4

Average velocity = 2.5 m/s

ii) From the graph,

Initial position(Pi) = 0

Final position(Pf) = - 10 m

We know,

Displacement = Pf - Pi

                        = -10 m - 0

Displacement = - 10 m

iii) From the graph, it can be directly said that he reaches the starting point at 7 s and 13 s.

Hope It Helps You!
