Given,

Fruit grower uses ⅓ of his land for bananas , ⅜ for pineapples and ⅙ for mangoes.

Remaining land is used for oranges.

To find,

The part of the land used for oranges.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Let, the whole land = 1

Total land used for bananas, pineapples and mangoes :

= ⅓ + ⅜ + ⅙

 =  \frac{(8 + 9 + 4)}{24}

 =  \frac{21}{24}

 =  \frac{7}{8}

Now, land used for oranges :

= Whole land - Total land used for bananas, pineapples and mangoes

= 1 - ⅞

 =  \frac{(8 - 7)}{8}

 =  \frac{1}{8}

(This will be considered as the final result.)

Hence, part of the land is used for oranges.
