Step-by-step explanation:

how much he paid for 14 dozens 14x3 = 42rs

20 were rotten

1 doze contain 12

12x14=168 apples

148/12=12 dozens

3.72x12=44.64

44.64 - 42 = 2.64 was his profit.

No of fruit bought = 14 × 12

=168

Given, cost per dozen = ₹3

==> Cost of 14 dozen (CP)= ₹(14×3)

=₹43 (CP)

No of fruits rotten rotten =20

Total fruits sold = 168 -20

=148

Selling price of 1 dozen =₹3.72

==>Selling price of 148 fruits = (148/12) ×₹3.72

=₹45.87 approx

Profift = Sp-Cp

= ₹(45.87-43)

= 2.87
