Answer:

S.P = Rs. 18.84 per kg Apple

Step-by-step explanation:

Here the percentage gain is = 12×1/2% = 6%

Now, the total Cost price= Rs. 640

Selling Price = 640×106/100= Rs. 678.40

weight of the present Apple is = 40-4=36kg

So, per kg selling price of apple will be= Rs. 18.84

Apples should be sold at Rs 60 per kg to gain  12 1/2 %

Step-by-step explanation:

A fruit seller bought 40 kg apple at rupees 16 per kg.

=> Cost Price = 40 * 16  = Rs 640

4 kg apples were rotten

Sellable Apples = 16 - 4 = 12 kg

Let say Selling Price per kg = S  Rs

Total Selling Price =  12S  Rs

Gain = 12S  - 640   Rs

12 1/2 % = 25/2% Gain  on Rs 640  =   (25/200) * 640 =  Rs 80

12S - 640 = 80

=> 12S = 720

=> S = 60

Apples should be sold at Rs 60 per kg to gain  12 1/2 %
