Answer:

Loss = Rs 1

Gain = Rs 2

Step-by-step explanation:

36 apples for Rs 360

1 apple = 360/36

= Rs 10

each apple cost Rs 10

By selling half of 36 apples

36/2 = 18 apples

18*12 = Rs 216.

gain =Rs 12 - Rs 10

Rs 2

Rest of the apples to the hostel children.

18*9 = Rs 162

Loss = Rs 10 - Rs 9

Rs 1

Hope it will clear you☺️
