A fruit seller buys lemons at 2 for a rupee and
sells them at 5 for three rupees. What is his
profit per cent?

S.P. of a lemon =Rs 3/5. Gain % = gain×100/C.P. = (100×2)/10. = 20 %.

Since, CP \:  of \:  2 \:  lemons  \: is \:  Rs.1.

 \\ Therefore, \:  CP \:  of  \: 1 \:  lemon \:  is = \frac{1}{2}  = Rs.0.5</p><p>

 \\ SP \:  of  \: 5 \:  lemons \:  is \:  Rs.3.

 \\ SP \: of \: 1 \: lemon \: is \:  =  \frac{3}{5}  = Rs.0.6

 \\ Therefore, \: Profit \: percent \:  =  \frac{0.6 - 0.5}{0.5}  \times 100

 \\  =  \frac{0.1 \times 100}{0.5}  = 20\%
