Given :-

  • Rate of an apple = Rs. 5
  • Rate of a banana = Rs. 2

To Find :-

  • The number of apples = ?

Solution:-

Let, the number appples and banana be x. After that we have to solve this question by putting formula and applied condition which is given in the question.

=> Cp of apples = Rate × X

=> Cp of apples = 5x

=> Cp of banana = 2x

  • Profit on apples by selling:-

=> Cp = 5x P = 20%

=> Sp = (100 + P% ) × Cp

=> Sp = 120 /100 × 5x

=> Sp = 6x

  • Profit on banana by selling :-

=> Cp = 2x P = 15%

=> Sp = (100 + P%) × Cp

=> Sp = 115 / 100 × 2x

=> Sp = 23x / 10

  • Now calculate total Cp and Sp:-

=> Total investment = Cp of apples + Cp of banana

=> Total investment = 5x + 2x

=> Total investment = 7x

=> Total sell = Sp of apples + Sp of banana

=> Total sell = 6x + 23x /10

=> Total sell = 60x +23x / 10 = 83x/10 = 8.3x

  • Now calculate no of apples:-

=> Profit = Selling price - Cost price

=> 8.3x - 7x = 390

=> 1.3x = 390

=> x = 390 / 1.3

=> x = 300

Hence,

  • The number of apples = 300

Given :-

A fruit seller buys some apples at rupees 5 per Apple he also buys an equal number of Bananas at rupees 2 per banana he makes a 20% profit on apples and 15% profit on Bananas at the end of the day De all fruits are sold out is total profit is rupees 390

To Find :-

Number of apples

Solution :-

Let the CP of apple and banana be a

CP of apple = 5 × a = 5a

CP of banana = 2 × a = 2a

Now

ATQ

We know that

SP = (100 + Profit %)/100 × CP

SP = (100 + 20)/100 × 5a

SP = 120/100 × 5a

SP = 24/20 × 5a

SP = 24/4 × a

SP = 24a/4

SP = 6a

Now

On  bananas

SP = (100 + Profit%)/100 × CP

SP = (100 + 15)/100 × 2a

SP = 115/100 × 2a

SP = 23/20 × 2a

SP = 23a/10

Now

Total SP = 5a + 2a

Total SP = 7a

Total CP = 6a + 23a/10

Total CP = 60a + 23a/10

Total CP = 83a/10

Now

Profit = SP - CP

Profit = 83a/10 - 7a

390 = 83a - 70a/10

390 × 10 = 83a - 70a

3900 = 13a

3900/13 = a

300 = a
