Given :-

A fruit seller purchased 60 oranges at rate of 12 for ₹ 10 he sold them at the rate of 10 for ₹ 12.

To find :-

The Profit of the fruit seller .

Solution :-

Given that

Total number of fruits are purchased by the fruit seller = 60

The cost price of 12 fruits = ₹ 10

The cost price of 1 fruit = 10/12 = 5/6

The cost price of 60 fruits

= 60×(5/6)

= (60×5)/6

= 10×5

= ₹ 50

The selling price of 10 fruits = 12

The selling price of 1 fruit = 12/10 = 6/5

The selling price of 60 fruits

= 60×(6/5)

= (60×6)/5

= 12×6

= ₹ 72

We have ,

The cost price of 60 fruits = 50

The selling price of 60 fruits = 72

Selling Price > Cost Price

=> Profit occurs

We know that

Profit = Selling Price - Cost Price

=> Profit = 72-50 = 22

Therefore, Profit = ₹ 22

Answer :-

The profit of the fruit seller = 22

Used formulae:-

Profit = Selling Price - Cost Price
