A fruit seller uses a manipulated weighing machine. He portrays that he is selling his
goods at the cost price only. To cheat his customers, he uses a weight of 950 g instead
of 1 kg. What is his gain percentage?​

Let the original quantity be 100 units.

Whilst buying, he cheats and gets a gain of 10%.

>> 100*110/100

= 110 units

*he gets 110 units for the price of 100 units*

Whilst selling, he makes a profit of 10%

= 110*110/100

= 121 units

*he sells 121 units for the price of 100 units*

Gain % = [(Gain + original number) - (Original Number)] *100/Original number

= (121–100)/100 * 100

= 21%
