A fruiterer bought 60 kg mangoes at Rs. 10 a kg. He sold one-third of the mangoes at Rs. 13 a kg and the rest at Rs. 16 a kg. What was his gross profit or loss?
Answers
cp of one kg = 10rs
thus cp of 60kg = 600rs.
1/3 of mangoes = 60/3=20kg
sp of 20kg = 20×13 = 260rs
2/3 of mangoes sold at 16per kg
sp of 40kg = 40×16 =640rs
total sp = 900rs
sp>cp
so gain = sp-cp = 300rs
total sp =
thus total sp =

As per question,
So, net amount babita paid =48×160=Rs. 7680
She sold 70% of mangoes at Rs. 70 per kg
So, cost of 705 of mangoes =160×
100
70
×70=Rs. 7840
Net amount received after selling mangoes,
=7840+1920=Rs. 9760
We know that, SP>CP. So, there is a gain;
Gain =SP−CP=9760−7680=2080
Again, we know that,
Gain percentage =
CP
Gain
×100=
7680
2080
×100=27.80%
