A fruit seller bought bananas at Rs. 90 per dozen and sold them at a loss of 8 percent. How much will a customer pay for.

(i) 1 banana

(ii) 40 bananas

\huge\bold\color{red}\underline{ \underline{\mathfrak{⭐ Answer ⭐}}}

Given :-

  • 1 dozen = Cost price = Rs 90
  • Lost = 8%

To find :-

  • Cost of 1 banana
  • Cost of 40 bananas

∴ Selling price of 1 dozen bananas

 \color{purple}\boxed{S.P\implies\frac{C.P \times (100 - loss\%)}{100} }

 \implies \: S.P =  \frac{90 \times (100 - 8)}{100}

\implies   \frac{(90 × 92)}{100}

 \implies \frac{828}{10}

 \color{green} {\implies { \underline {Rs \:  \: 82.80}}}

(i) Selling price of 1 banana

 \bold{ \implies \frac{Cost  \:  \: price }{No. \:  of \:  \:  bananas } }

 \implies \frac{82.80}{12}

 \color{green}{ \boxed{ \implies{ \underline{ Rs.6.90}}}}

Selling price of 1 banana is 6.90 Rs.

(ii) Selling price of 40 bananas

 \implies \: Rs \: 6.90 × 40
