Given :-

  • Total cost of diesel = $15,000 .
  • Total persons = 150 .
  • the lower limit of sale to a person = $50.

To Find :-

  • What is the maximum amount for which one person could have purchased diesel on that day. ?

Solution :-

it has been given that, total cost or diesel is = $15000 .

For maximum amount of purchased for 1 person , we have to given minimum purchased to rest of the members.

So,

Let one day Except one Person , rest members sold a amount Equal to Lower limit.

Than,

Members = 150 - 1 = 149 .

→ Lower limit of sale = $50 .

So,

That day , 149 sold diesel costing = 149 * 50 = $74,50 .

And, Total sale per day is $15,000.

which concludes that, rest amount of sales was done by that particular person.

Therefore,

Sales of That person alone = 15000 - 7450 = $7550 .

Hence, the maximum amount for which one person could have purchased diesel on that day is $7550.
