A function can be classified as :—
1) ONE TO ONE IF ALL ELEMENTS OF X SET HAVE ONE DIFFERENT Y VALUE. NO TWO CAN HAVE SAME VALUE.
EG:- X —» 2,3,1
Y —» 4,6,2
Y = 2X IS A ONE TO ONE FUNCTION
2) MANY TO ONE IF ATLEAST ONE Y VALUE HAS TWO X VALUES FOR IT.
EG:- X—» 4,-4
Y—» 16
Y = X² IS A MANY TO ONE FUNCTION
3) ONE TO MANY
I BELIEVE IT'S IN THE DEFINITION OF FUNCTION THAT IT CAN'T BE OF ONE TO MANY TYPE
Hope It Helps
