A fuse is conected in series or parllel un circuit or why

Fuse in the circuit is connected in series because when the case of overloading happens it melt and break the circuit.
Fuse is made up of an alloy have low melting point. It has high resistance so it can produce more heat and can break easily when there is a case of overloading..
