A g. 13. In figure ABCD is a trapezium of area 24.5 sq. cm.
In it, AD || BC, angle DAB = 90°, AD = 10 cm and BC = 4 cm. If ABE is a quadrant of a circle, find the
area of the shaded region. [Take pie = 22/7]

Answer:

Area of shaded region is 14.875 sq. cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of trapezium =(1/2) (sum of parallel sides) × height

A.T.Q.:-

24.5 =(1/2) (10+4) × height

Height = 24.5/7 =3.5cm

Since AB is perpendicular distance between Parallel sides, AB is height of trapezium.

Area of shaded region =area of trapezium -

area of quadrant

=24.5 - (1/4)Pi ×(AB)^2

=24.5 - (1/4) × 22/7 ×(7/2)^2

=24.5 - 9.625 = 14.875 sq. cm
