A galvanometer coil has a resistance G. 1% of the total current goes through the coil and rest through the shunt. What is the resistance of the shunt?

Rₙ  = G/99

Explanation:

If  1% current passes through the galvanometer of resistance G, 99% of current passes through shunt.

0.01I × G = 0.99I × Rₙ {Here I am using n in place of S}

Rₙ  = G/99
