For conversion into volmeter, 2950 ohm resistance should be in series with galvanometer.

Explanation:

Given the galvanometer resistance of the coil, R = 50 ohm.

The deflection current, I_g = 5 mA = 0.005 A.

The maximum voltage , V = 15 V.

For conversion into voltmeter, R resistor should  be combined in series with  galvanometer.

R=\frac{V}{I_g}-G

Substitute the values, we get

R=\frac{15V}{5\times10^-^3A} -50\Omega

R=3000\Omega-50\Omega

R= 2950 ohm.

Thus, 2950 ohm resistance should be added in series with galvanometer.
