So here given that Rm=20 ohm, Im=0.5A, I=5A, Rs=?

Rs=20/[(5/0.5) -1]

Rs=20/[10–1], => Rs = 20/9 = 2.22 ohm

So we need to connect a shunt resistance of 2.22 ohm in parallel to the existing 20 ohm , to make an ammeter of (0–5) A.
