If the galvanometer is converted to read 15 volts, resistance in series with galvanometer coil is connected. The voltage drop across the resistance should be equal to

15–0.25=14.75 volt, when the current through the series circuit is 5mA.

The value of series resistance

=14.75/0.005

=2950 Ohms

=2.95 Kilo Ohms
