Possible outcomes in tossing a coin one time - Heads(H), Tails(T)

Possibles outcomes in tossing a coin three times – HHH, TTT, HHT, TTH, HTH, THH, THT, HTT

If getting the same outcome in all the three tosses is the success then :-

Probability of success =  P(S)  = number of favourable (HHH, TTT) outcomes/number of total outcomes = \frac{2}{8}

Hence, Probability of losing the game = 1 - P(S) = 1 - \frac{2}{8} = \frac{6}{8} = \frac{3}{4}
