\large  \sf\underline{ \underline{ \red{given : }}} \\  \\

  • Total flowering plants is 500.

  • 5% are sunflowers.

  • 10% are roses.

 \\  \\ \large  \sf\underline{ \underline{ \red{to \: find : }}} \\  \\

  • Other flowering plants.

 \\  \\ \large  \sf\underline{ \underline{ \red{solution : }}} \\  \\

% of other flowering plant = 100 - (5+10) = 85%

 \\  \therefore \:  \rm{there \: are \: 85\% \: other \: flowering \: plants.}

 \\  \\

Now , we will find 85% of 500.

 \\  \tt{85\% \: of \: 500} \\  \\  \\ \tt{ \frac{85}{ \cancel{100} }\times  { \cancel{500} }\:  \: ^{5}  } \\  \\  \\  \tt{ \implies \red{425 \: plants}}

 \\  \therefore \:   \rm{\pink{425 \:  plants} \: are \: other \: flowering \: plants.}

 \\

Note :-

  • We can solve this question by other method too.

Find number of sunflower and rose plants as percentage of both the plant is given .

So, the remaining would be other flowering plants.
