Answer:

Area of garden = 1.045 hectare

Area of path = 2150sq.m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Length of garden = 110m

Breath of garden = 95m

Length of path = 5m wide

Find:

Area of path

Area of garden in hectare

Solution:

Area of pavement = Area of 4 squares + Area of 4 rectangles

Area of 4 squares = 4 side x side

                           = 4 x 5 x 5

                           = 20 x 5 = 100sq.m

Area of 4 rectangles = 2 x (l x b) + (l x b)

                                = 2 x (110 x 5) + (95 x 5)

                                = 2 x 550 + 475

                                = 2 x 1025 = 2050sq.m

Area of path = 100sq.m + 2050sq.m

                   = 2150sq.m

Area of garden = length x breath

                       = 110m x 95m

                       = 10,450sq.m

As 1 hectare = 10,000 m

Thus 10,450 m = 1.045 hectare
