Method of Solution:→

→  Length of Garden = 120 metres ✔

→  Breadth of Garden=85 metres✔

Now, According to the Question's Statement!

→  It has an inside path of uniform width 3.5m all around it!→

→  Thus, Length of  portion covered by grass = 120 - (3.5+3.5)

= 120-(7)

= 113 metres✔

 →  So, Breadth of  portion covered by grass = 85-(3.5+3.5)

=85-7

= 78metres✔

→  Area of  Portion covered by grass = (113×78) = 8814m²

 →   Now, cost of covering the garden by grass at 50 paise per square metre = 8814×0.5= Rs. 4407 ✔

→   Therefore, Required cost covering the garden by grass = Rs 4407.✔
