Answer:

Area of the path is 0.0384 hectare.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

From the given data we get to know that

Length of the garden (L) = 50 m

Breadth of the garden (B) = 42 m

The garden is in the shape of a rectangle

We know that area of the rectangle is given by

length × breadth

= 50× 42= 2100 m^2

From the figure, we know that

The new length and breadth of the garden when the path is included is 54m and 46 m respectively.

A new area of the garden = 54 × 46

         = 2484 m^2

The area of path = New area of the garden including path – Area of garden

                    = 2484-2100=384 m^2

          For 1 hectare = 10000 m²

Hence, area of the garden in hectare=\frac{384}{10000} =0.0384
