area of full garden = 100×60=6000msquare.

area of path = 2×100×3+54×3×2=600+324=924m^2

(if you understood this , you understood the whole question )

area of park excluding path = 6000-924=5076

see,

in order to find the area of the path of width 3 m

length will be the same × 2 ,

But when we take the breadth we will have to subtract 3m from both the sides to not find the area two times (logically)

so 60-6=54

I hope you understood .
