Area of garden = area of square + area of semicircle

Area of square = side × side

Given side = 7 m

=> area = 7 × 7

=> area = 49 m²

Now area of semicircle = \frac{\pi r^{2} }{2} \\

Since the semicircle is made on the side, it's diameter = side of square

 hence, radius = 7/2 = 3.5

So, area of semicircle =

π × 3.5²/2

Taking π as 22/7, we get

22/7 × 12.25/2

= 11 × 1.75

= 19.25 m²


So, the area of garden = 49 + 19.25 = 68.25
