A gardener can trim a square lawn of side 50 metres in 4 hours. At the
same rate, how long will it take him to trim a square lawn of side 25
metres?

area of the lawn =50*50=2500sq.m

area of the lawn =25*25=625sq.m

now 2500/625= 4.

so the gardener will take 1/4 as much time to trim the smaller

lawn , that is 1 hour.

note that the areas of laws are to be compare not the lengths of side.
