Answer:

Number of trees planted by the gardener is 1521 .

Let the number of rows be x .

Then the number of plants in each row is also equal to x because the number of rows is equal to number of plants in each row .

Number of total plants = number of rows × number of plants in each row

⇒ 1521 = x × x

⇒ x² = 1521

Take square root both sides :

⇒ x = √1521

⇒ x = 39

The number of rows will be 39 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Note that when x² = a² .

Then we say that | x | = | a | .

We can hence say that x = ± a .

But here we have to neglect the negative value since number of rows cannot be negative .

SOLUTION : -

Total plants in the garden=1521

Let rows be 'x' and plants in each row also as 'x'

According to question,

Total plants = No.of. plants in each row×No.of rows

Let's substitute the values in the formula given above

1521 = X × X

1521 = X^2

 X=39

In the question , they gave that no.of rows and plants in each row are equal

Therefore,

No.of. rows =39

Plants in each row=39
