A gardener wishes to plant 6096 plants in the form of a square and found that there were 12 plants left . How many plants were planted in each row?

Let the number of plants in each row be x

Number of plants in square = area = x²

now, x²+8 = 8289

=> x² = 8289 -8 = 8281

=> x =√8281 = 91

So, there were 91 plants planted in each row.
