A gardner has 1027 plants. He wants to plant these in such a way that the number of rows and number of columns remain same. Find the number of plants remaining out of this arrangement.​

The next perfect square number closest but greater than 1000 is 1024.

And 1024=32×32

Hence, if 24 more plants are added to 1000,

then no. of rows and columns will be same.
