Answer:

1 shirt = 100rs profit

1 half pant =50rs loss

a) The shop sells in a mnth 50 shirts and 150 half pant.what is the profit or loss?

shirts 50 and 150 half shirts

Shirts =50 × 100 (profit)

= 5000(profit)

Half pants = 150 × 50(loss)

= 7500(loss)

Shop keeper loss or profit =5000-7500= -2500

Therefore he received 2500 loss

b) If the shop owner sells 50 half pants in a mnth . how many shirts he has to sell to earn a profit of rs 5000

if he sells 50 half pants = 50 ×50

= 250(loss)

To receive 5000 profit he need sell :

Shirts profit -250 =5000

Shirts profit=5000+250

= 5250

To get 5250 as profit on shirts he need to sell :

100×no. of shirts =5250

No.shirts=5250/100

=52.5

= 53 (approx)

So to get 5000 profit he need to sell 53 shirts
