garison has 12 days provision for 480 men
but, no of men reduced by 160
therefore, no. of men = 480-160=320
let no.of days be x
so, using inverese variation
480÷320=x÷12
⇒x=480×12
         320
⇒x= 18 days

Answer:

180 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Reduction of men

480-160=320

Men Days

480 12

320 x

IT IS AN INVERSE VARIATION

x×320=480×12

x=480×12/320

x=18days

  1. the provision will last for 18 days
