25 days

As per the situation , at the time of joining of 5 men ,120 men had provision for (30–5) = 25 days. If men are changed N times, days will change by (1/N) times. 120N = 125 => (1/N) = 120 / 125. (1/N) of 25 = (120/125)*25 = 24 days.

Answer:

Let after the joining of 5 men (after 5 days), It took x days to sustain on the remaining provision then,

According to the question-

120×30=120×5+125×x

(120×30)−(120×5)=125x

120(30−5)=125x

120×25=125x

120=5x

x=24 days

Hence, this is the required answer.
